  • Course Reserves
    Africana Library staff handle course reserve requests for Africana classes.  We can place tangible items on reserve, as well as processing files for electronic reserve.  Please visit the CUL course reserves web page or contact Sharon Powers at afrlib@cornell.edu for direct assistance.
  • Borrow, Renew, Return Policies
    To see the borrowing policies of Cornell University Library, please visit the general borrowing/lending web page.
  • Borrow Direct and Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
    Use Borrow Direct or Interlibrary Loan web page to request materials not held at Cornell; materials held at the Library Annex can be sent to the Cornell Library unit of your choice or will be scanned and sent to you electronically.
  • Research Assistance
    Africana Library staff are available to offer assistance throughout your research process.  Visit the Africana Library Service Desk or send an e-mail to afrlib@cornell.edu to ask a question or set up an appointment.
  • Instruction, Classes
    To schedule an instruction session or class tour, contact Eric Kofi Acree at acree@cornell.edu or 607-255-5229.
  • Laptops
    The Africana Library provides three laptop computers for use in the library.  Ask about availability at the service desk. Laptops are available on a first-come/first-served basis and have a 4-hour loan period.  Renewals and overnight loans are permitted
  • Public Workstations, Printing & Scanning
    Public workstations in the Africana Library provide full productivity software (Microsoft Office, etc.) and internet access.  In addition, the library offers printing and scanning.
