Services

  • Course Reserve for Instructors:
    Learn how to submit course reserve request.  
  • Instruction Support:
    Learn about the instruction that the library can provide. 
  • Borrow Direct and Interlibrary Loan (ILL):
    Use the CUL Borrow Direct or Interlibrary Loan site to request materials not held at Cornell; materials held at the Library Annex can be sent to the Cornell Library unit of your choice or will be scanned and sent to you electronically.
  • CUL Borrow, Renew, Return Policies:
    To see the borrowing policies of Cornell University Library, please visit the CUL borrowing/lending web page.
  • Research Assistance:
    Library staff are available to offer assistance throughout your research process.  Visit the Clarke Africana Library Service Desk or send an e-mail to afrlib@cornell.edu to ask a question or set up an appointment.
  • Laptops:
    The Clarke Africana Library provides a laptop computer for use in the library.  Ask about availability at the service desk. The laptop is available on a first-come/first-served basis and has a 4-hour loan period.  Renewals and overnight loans are permitted.
  • Public Workstations, Printing & Scanning:
    Public workstations in the Clarke Africana Library provide full productivity software (Microsoft Office, etc.) and internet access.  In addition, the library offers printing and scanning.
